What you’ll learn in this beginners’ oil painting workshop:

This beginner’s workshop breaks down the fundamentals of oil painting into manageable blocks. Students will learn about surfaces, mediums, palette and easels types, paint mixing, drawing with paint, values (light/dark), composition and color theory.
Oil paints are lustrous, rich and juicy, the gold standard of mediums throughout the history of art. They can also be intimidating, with their many pigments, oils, varnishes, turpentine and brushes.
Students will receive individual attention at every step along the way. Leaving with a basic knowledge of the materials and techniques used in oil painting as well a completed painting or two.

Hosted by the Tubac Art Academy and Instructed by artist Leslie Miller, this beginners’ oil painting workshop will take place in beautiful Tubac, Arizona’s oldest settlement.

Since this is a beginners class, and oil painting supplies are not cheap. I felt like having the materials on hand for you would be a nice way to see what you love before investing in colors that may not suit you. The approximate cost to purchase everything on the list is $250.00
I can provide these materials, for your use in the workshop, the optional, additional fee is  $30..

I would ask that you provide your own roll or rolls of viva paper towels, torn from the pick a size roll, then cut into thirds or half. I use half to ¾ of a roll per painting and I cut mine in thirds. I am a messy painter. That said purchasing 1-2 rolls should be sufficient.
